What defines a home?
We want to look at the similarities and differences between items from homes all over the world. What happens with products after they have left the store?
Objects tell stories of moments in our lives, people we have met and places we have been to.
We have collected personal stories about objects. Some of these objects are reproduced in red plastic with the owners story prined on the surface.
At the Milan fair 2005 The objects were spread to different places all over the world and we asked the new owners to send us images and stories from their homes.
This is a long time survey where we collect stories and explore what makes people love or hate an object.
This is my mouth plate. I got it from a friend who was taking photographs of African tribes in Ethiopia. And one of the tribes, I can't remember their name, used this as a mouth plate. It has actually been in the mouth of one of the tribe members. Anyway, I got it from my friend, for no reason whatsoever. I like it because It's like a souvenir, but for real. It's on the table. I use it for peanuts.
