What defines a home?
We want to look at the similarities and differences between items from homes all over the world. What happens with products after they have left the store?
Objects tell stories of moments in our lives, people we have met and places we have been to.
We have collected personal stories about objects. Some of these objects are reproduced in red plastic with the owners story prined on the surface.
At the Milan fair 2005 The objects were spread to different places all over the world and we asked the new owners to send us images and stories from their homes.
This is a long time survey where we collect stories and explore what makes people love or hate an object.
We doodle absent mindedly - doodling is a kind of half-conscious creative work. It is both a distraction, and also thought to help you concentrate on whatever you are doing at the same time. All three members of Front used doodles they had made during design meetings to create the sofa's pattern. The decoration is a kind of by-product of Front's creative process, inscribed onto the folded half circle of the sofa's form.
